Snorkel Sherman - Something NEW

Before sending this card to Bella (please read the details on my post HERE), I made a few changes and took more photos of the card that I made for this brave little girl..

This card was also made for this week's Challenge on La-La Land Crafts Blog.. This week's challenge is hosted by Kim. Kim has challenged us to TRY SOMETHING NEW!!! WOW!!! I know I am always looking for some new ideas for my cards :-)

Please click HERE to see all the wonderful cards made by LLLC Design Team, so many GREAT ideas!!! Also, don't forget that as always there is a prize for the winner of the challenge!! Why not play along and try something new??!!

For my card I wanted to create the ocean scene for Sherman and to make somewhat an interactive card.. So.. I made a paper spring for Sherman.. So easy and so much FUN!!!

..just in case if you missed this from my previous post.. Best Creations designer paper. Sealife glitter stickers are from MAMBI, so lucky to have them left from my scrapbooking days, they were just PERFECT to create the scene for this silly cat ;-) Fish and bubbles are raised on the foam tape. Dew Drops for the stones on the ocean florr. Sherman is mounted on the paper spring. Cat was colored with Copic Markers and I added Crystal Stickles to his flippers and the mask.

You can buy this Snorkel Sherman stamp in La-La Land Crafts online store, just click HERE. Oh, and this stamp comes with three coordinating sentiments!!! Check it out!!

Happy Birthday from Porsha

This week Jane is a challenge host at La-La Land Crafts blog. Jane has challenged us to use RED on our cards/projects.

"This week, I want to see what you do with RED. Pull out the red cardstock, red ribbon, red brads, red bling... I want to see RED! Of course it's fine to add other colors but red should be the main color."

OK.. I know red is one of my favorite colors in card making and I was very excited about this challenge.. as I was looking through my supplies last night, I was really amazed that I have a lot of red cardstock but not that much of the red designer paper.. more of burgundy really, but not much of red.. I have found this paper though, red with white polka dots!!! How FUN!!! I do not say it about a lot of my cards, but I absolutely LOVE how this card has turned out!!!!

I picked Porsha again for my card, she is one of my favorite Lala Land Crafts images at this time!! I just LOVE "dressing her up" by giving her different papep pieced dresses, just see my other card with Porsha here.

I have this layout in my head and to make it work, guess what? I made a card other then 6" x 6" in size.. hahaha.. this card measures 6" x 5".

Bazzill Cardstock. Doodlebug Designs designer paper. Martha Steward border punch. EK Success flower punches. Marvy Urchida circle and scalloped circle punches. Cuttlebug corners die cuts. Mark Richards rhinestones. Porsha stamp from La-La Land Crafts - colored with Copics, dress paper pieced. Sentiment from Just A Note set by JustRite. Butterfly is from Martha Stewart Clear Butterfly Stamps set - stamped with red ink and cut out.

To see more cards please hop over to La-La Land Crafts DT blog to see all of other creations to inspire you!! You'll have until Monday night to enter into this challenge. As always, there is a prize for grabs!!!

Happy Birthday Lotus

It is Wednesday, and that means that there is a new challenge on La-La Land Crafts Blog. This week's challenge is hosted by our super talented Lisa!! Lisa has came up with something that most of found indeed challenging!!!

"I challenge you to make a card without using any designer/decorative paper (including any you stamp on your own). Yep, that's right... only cardstock! But you can dry emboss the cardstock layers and use whatever embellishments you want. It's sort of the old-fashioned way of card-making!"

No designer paper???!!! Only cardstock????!!!! WOW!!!!

I thought it would be super hard, but somehow I had managed ;-) Thank goodness for Cuttlebug embossing folders!!!! I am actually VERY HAPPY with this card!! I think Lotus is just so lovely, she looks so beautiful in these colors!!

This is also one of the cards for my upcoming "Birthdays in La-La Land" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale, CA. We will make three cards in this class, all with La-La Land Crafts stamps. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, February 18th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, February 18th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Sunday, February 21st, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please bring your Cuttlebug, foam tape and your favorite adhesive to this class. All other supplies will be provided.

$30, 10 participants max.

Class Kits are available until February 21st, $35 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or purchase your kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Birds and Swirls embossing folders. Martha Steward punch-around-a-page punch. I made the flower with two different flowers, button in the center and the twine bow. The leafs for the flower were cut from the same ribbon that Lotus is sitting on.. Lotus was colored with Copics, cut out and popped onto the card for dimension.

Now, go see what La-La Land Crafts Design team came up for this great "No DP Challenge", here is the link to the blog. Maybe you can play with us this week? There is even a prize for grabs!!

Sweetheart Porsha

Kristine is hosting the challenge on La-La Land Crafts blog this week. Kristine wants us to USE ♥HEARTS on our projects. Make a heart-shaped card; use hearts in your DP; ribbon with hearts on it; heart punches or Nesties; Doilies in the shape of hearts; heart images; doodle hearts around your image/card... You get the picture!!

Make sure to visit La-La Land Crafts blog to see all gorgeous creations from the Design Team. There is a prize there also, just leave your project with Mr Linky :-)

I have decided to use one of my favorite images from the latest La-La Land Crafts release, this is Porsha. Isn't she ADORABLE??? This card measures 6" x 6".

Porsha was colored with Copic Markers. E13 for the skin, RV32 for her cheeks. I followed my friend's Deidre's tutorial and colored Porsha's cheeks first, before coloring her face. E09 and E29 for her hair. E13 and E53 for her eyes. E09 for lips. I just love how sweet Porsha looks in her pink polka dot dress, her dress is paper pieced!!!

Making Memories Designer Paper, LOVE it!!!! Hearts were cut with Nestabilites. The circle embellishment says "sweet heart" on it, but it is hard to see on the photo because of the reflection.. if you click on the photo to enlarge it then you will be able to see it.. Ribbon is from my stash.

Do you like my new La-La Land Crafts watermark? Isn't it just AWESOME!!! Super talented Kristine made one for me!!!!

You can purchase this Ornament Lala stamp as well as all our stamps in our online store at La-La Land Crafts, here is the link.

La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge # 15 - BUTTONS

It is Wednesday and that means that there is a new challenge on La-La Land Crafts Blog!! Our hostess today is Jane. Here is what Jane came up with for this week's challenge:

"This week's challenge is all about BUTTONS! I was organizing my embellishments and realized how many buttons I have managed to collect over the years. It seems that I love to collect and not use them! Does anyone else have this problem? Well, now you get to look through your stash and find one or two or however many you want to use for this challenge."

I can definitely relate to it, Jane!! I too have collected many buttons throughout the years ;-) What a GREAT, GREAT challenge!!!

Please visit La-La Land Crafts blog to participate and to see the samples from our super talented Design Team. AND.. There is also a prize offered to the top pick!!!

My card today is also for the challenge on Stampin' Sisters in Christ Blog. La-La Land Crafts is hosting their challenge this week, and the challenge is to make a card, layout or other paper craft project that has GIFT featured in it. If you have never been to Stampin's Sisters in Christ blog, you just have to visit it!!! Great, great challenges with the awesome samples from DT!! Here is the link to this week's challenge, go play!!

This card measures 6" x 6".

I decided to ink my Sitting Lala stamp for this Christmas card :-) I think this stamp is very versatile and can be used for pretty much any occasion. Designer paper is by We-R-Memory-Keepers. The bench was stamped directly onto the designer paper. All images were colored with Copic Markers. I tried to stay within the colors on the designer paper, but it was getting way too monotone for my taste, so I colored Lala's eyes and one of the present in blue ;-).

The flower was already the part of the design on the paper, but I have created my own to go over it with EK Success Flower Punches. Martha Steward Border Punch. Buttons from my somewhat huge stash ;-) Sentiment inside of the card is from Hero Arts Clear Stamp set called Holiday Sayings.

You can purchase the Sitting Lala stamp on our website here.

The Christmas Bench and the Presents stamps are both from Magnolia, and they are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. Just call the store at 408-736-9151 to place your order.

My father is still in the hospital and I am trying to catch up with things between the visits..

I made this card for the Challenge on La-La Land Crafts Blog. This week's challenge is hosted by Lisa and here is what she had to say:

"Hello my La-La Land Crafts friends! I'm so glad to be back as your hostess for this week's challenge. One of my favorite embellishments is ribbon. I LOVE ribbon! In fact, when there isn't a spot for it on my card, I think something's missing!

So, my challenge to you is to use ribbon on your card or project. In fact, why not let ribbon be your inspiration!"

What a fun, fun challenge!! Thank you Lisa!! For more details and to participate in the challenge please visit La-La Land Crafts blog. As always, the top three entries will receive a cute badge to put on their blog. But what different this time is that the top pick will receive this Santa Lala stamp as the prize as well!!! Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or to purchase your kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

Designer paper is by Graphic 45. I used A Merry Little Christmas JustRite set along with Santa Lala from La-La Land Crafs on this card. You can purchase this and other La-La Land Crafts stamps on the online store, here is the link. All images were colored with Copic Markers. Lala was cut out and popped onto the card. I added Liquid Applique with some glitter to the white parts of her outfit. The pendant was made with Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts and I weaved the ribbon through the opening of the pendant, really like how it has turned out!! On the panel behind the pendant I made a grid with Scor-Pal. Cuttlebug die-cut corners. Hero Arts rhinestones.

Tag Bookmark Card with Rosie

I am a day late, but I had managed to make a card for the La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge. This week's challenge was chosen by our Guest Designers, each of them added something different to the group challenge.

Karin - Two different patterned papers
Kimmi - Color Combination: Strawberries (red), Chocolate (brown) and Cream
Marcea - Embossing (dry or heat)
Paul - Scallops
Sue - Paper Piercing

It did seem a bit overwhelming once I looked at the list, but really almost always we already include most of these elements on the cards that we make. For more details and to enter into the challenge please visit La-La Land Crafts Blog, here is the link.

This is also the second card for my upcoming "Bookmark Cards" class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class, all with different style of the removable bookmarks. To see the first card please click here. I have finished the third card already and will show it to you tomorrow. This class is scheduled for:

This card measures 6" x 6".

Designer paper is by Reminisce. The removable tag is tacked behind the border, once you pull it out you can use it as a bookmark. Martha Steward flower and leafs punches. Small flower punch is by Marvy.

Rosie with Book stamp is from La-La Land Crafts, you can buy it here. Rosie was colored with Copic Markers. Since I had missed the last week La-La Land Crafts "Paper Piece It!" Challenge, I decided to incorporate it into this card and paper pieced Rosie's overalls.

Quite a few things are going on on this card ;-) . Designer paper is by BoBunny and it already has the bats and the fence on it as a part of the design. The piece on the inside of the card that coordinates so well with the front is from the same 12x12 sheet of DP.. isn't that just great and make it so much easier to put things together!!! I sponged the "moon" with yellow ink..Distressed the edges of the layers and sponged with Grape ink from Memento, folded the right top corner and put the button with the twine bow on there. Orange DP behind the layer is also from BoBunny.

The Haunted house on the front of the card as well as on the back of it is a Shaped Die-Cut card from Hampton Arts that I cut apart. These cards sold out so fast!! I am sure glad I bought enough for my class!! I put some of the orange DP on the back of the house for the window and then added some Orange Peel Stickles.

Lala was colored with Copic Markers, cut out and popped in front of the house. You can buy this Lala stamp, other Halloween stamps along with the stamps from the First Release in La-La Land online store, here is the link.

The sentiment inside of the card is from JustRite Halloween set, I used 1" and 1 3/8" and 2" punches for the circles.

Hugs!!
