An Update to my Kodomo Card Class - Box and Envelopes

Finally I finished the Gift Box and lined the envelopes for my Kodomo Card Class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. At the class, we will make four cards, the Gift Box and will line the envelopes with Washi Paper.

I took a lot of photos to show you the whole set.. To see the photos and read the description of each individual card, please click here.

I made the box to fit the cards and the envelopes, I created my own template. I put the washi paper on the inside bottom of the box, on the sides and on the inside of the lid. The oval opening on the lid of the box was made with Nestabilites and then lined with a Window Sheet. I just LOVE how you can see the design of the card inside of the box through the window.

The envelopes were lined with the same design washi paper.

I am VERY HAPPY with how this Gift Set had turned out!! If you live in the Bay Area, come join us at the class.

This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, September 18th, from 10:30 to 2:30
Thursday, September 18th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
and because of demand :) I had to schedule an additional class for
Saturday, October 4th, from 11 am to 3 pm

Kodomo Cards Series - Gold Fishes

This is the last card in these series. Because it is a set, I kept the same design for all the cards while changing the image. This card was made with the stamp from Kodomo called "Goldfishes". If you would like to purchase any of the stamps that I used on this set, please stop by Cranberry Hill Mercantile if you are in the area or give them a call at 408-736-9151 to place an order (they can even ship the stamps to you).

To see all the details on the cards, please click on the photos to enlarge them.

The image was stamped, colored with Copic Markers, then embossed with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. This time I did not use the brayer like on previous cards, instead I sponged some blue in the center of the image and then lightly added more color pretty much all over. Now, just like on other cards I added details with white gel pen, Gold Zig painty and then added Gold Microbeads in the centers of the flowers.

I already started working on the Gift Box for the set.

This class is been scheduled for Thursday, September 18th, from 10:30 to 2:30 or from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To sign up for the class please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151.

Kodomo Cards Series - Folded Cranes

This card was made with the stamp from Kodomo called "Folded Cranes". It is a card number three for my class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. At the class we will make four cards (all different designs), will line the envelopes with Washi paper and will also make a gift box.

The image was stamped, colored with Copic Markers, then embossed with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. Using Brayer I added blue ink all over the image, but masked the "sun". Then I sponged darker blue on the bottom of the layer and sponged red and orange onto the sun. Added details to cranes and paper cranes with White Gel pen and Silver Painty. Layered it on a layer of black cardstock and raised on the card with pop up dots.

This class is been scheduled for Thursday, September 18th, from 10:30 to 2:30 or from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To sign up for the class please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151.

Kodomo Cards Series - Swimming Carp

I am going to have not just one but three posts today to show you the rest of the cards for my Kodomo Gift Cards set.

This card was made with the stamp from Kodomo called "Swimming Carp". Image was stamped, colored with Copic Markers, then embossed with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. Using a brayer I added light blue color all over the layer and then sponged darker blue on the bottom and around some of the flowers. Added details to fish and the flowers with white gel pen and Gold Zig Painty. Gold microbeads in the centers of the flowers.

This class is been scheduled for Thursday, September 18th, from 10:30 to 2:30 or from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To sign up for the class please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151.

Kodomo Cards Series - Jolly Sparrows

Edited to add.. This class has been scheduled for Thursday, September 18th, from 10:30 to 2:30 or from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To sign up for the class please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151.

Have you seen these new gorgeous stamps from Kodomo? They are rubber stamps that are permanently mounted on the acrylic block with the gorgeous picture of the image mounted on the back side of the block. These stamps look like little pieces of art and look good enough to be displayed as such!!

I am so happy that Geri (the store owner of Cranberry Hill Mercantile) had got them!! If you would like to get your hands on one of these beauties, please stop by the store or call them at 408-736-9151 to place an order (the stamps can even be shipped to you).

I will be making four cards using four different stamps from this collection for the class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. At the class we will make four cards, line the envelopes with Washi paper and will make a gift box to store the cards in. I think these will make a wonderful gift!!

Now, onto today's card.. This stamp is my favorite one of the four, so I had to start with it. The image looks just so gorgeous on the stamp, and I wanted to re-create the look and have it just like that on my card. Please note that even though there is sun (or moon) on the image, it is not on the stamp.

I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers. I then used Versamark pen to cover the image and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I then created the mask for the sun and brayered blue color starting from the top of the cardstock. Sponged green on the right side and in the top left corner. Then I had a lot of fun adding more color to the image with Copic Markers, White Gel Pen and Zig Gold/Silver Painty pen. There are Gold Microbeads in the centers of some flowers.

I kept the rest of the card very simple to let the image stand out. The layer on the left side of the card is the Brushed Gold cardstock.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the part of the image with the brunch and the flowers and colored it with Copic Markers.

I will show you more cards as soon as they are completed.

All supplies used on this card are available at Cranberry Hill Mercantile.
