Design Team Call for La-La Land Crafts

I thought I would wait, but I have already started getting emails from some of you who are interested in being on the Design Team for La-La Land Crafts. I am so thrilled that you want to be considered even without seeing the actual stamps!!!!

So, I have decided to have a Design Team Call :-) . To be on my design team, you have to have a blog and need to be posting regularly. It helps if you participate in the forums and/or challenges. I am not asking you to make any new cards to apply, just email me a link to your blog so I can see what you do and your style, and also tell me about yourself.

Here is what you will get from me:
- You will receive recognition! Your name, photo and short bio will be displayed on the company website.
- You will receive a Design Team package once a month, the package will contain three free stamps plus some stamping /scrapping supplies (paper, embellishments, ribbon, etc.).
- You will receive a 20% discount in the company store during your DT term.

Here is what I will need from you:
- Display La-La Land Crafts logo on your blog.
- Make at least one card/project a month with each of the stamps included in your DT package and post the cards/projects on your blog.
- Participate in La-La Land Crafts challenges.
- Advertise La-La Land Crafts when appropriate.

This is an open call, I am looking for six designers to start with. Anyone can apply! No previous experience of being on the Design Teams is necessary!

This is a "first come, first serve" kind of thing.. When I choose six people, I will close the call. I will still look at the new applications, but those will be saved for later consideration.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Oh, and I would appreciate it if you would mention my Desing Team Call on your blog as well.

Good luck to all!!

Hugs!!

Tilda with Cat

Before I start talking about the new card, I really want to address one issue.. Not an issue really, but I want to make it clear to everyone that I am NOT quitting doing what I have been doing!! I will have my new stamp company, La La Land Crafts, IN ADDITION to teaching classes and making cards with the stamps from other, different companies. The only reason you do not see me making that many cards lately, is because the set up of the new company is very time consuming. But once it is all in order, I will resume to my normal schedule. Hope this answers some of your questions :-) .

The new stamps from Magnolia's Pet Collection are just adorable, I don't think there is one that I don't like!!

This is the second card for my upcoming "Tilda - Pet Collection" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make two cards in this class (plus we will make custom envelopes using the Enveloper. To see the first card please click here. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, July 30th, 11 am to 2:00 pm
Thursday, July 30th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Please bring foam tape (pop up dots) and your favorite adhesive to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

$30, 10 participants max

Class Kits are available until July 30th, $35 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for this class and/or purchase the Class Kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

.. just realized that I put a second watermark right in the middle of the picture, have no idea how it happened.. if you would like to see the card better, please click on the photo to enlarge.. and good thing you can still see the image on the second photo..

I used gorgeous designer paper by Jenny Bowlin, it looks so fresh and clean against ivory cardstock. Tilda was colored with Copic Markers. Ovals were cut and embossed with Nestabilites as well as the label under the ovals. The swirly corners are from Cuttlebug, the same corners on the inside of the card. Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped border. Clean and simple card, a lot of details with no fuss :-).

All of the supplies used to make this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you don't live in the area, you can place your order online (for some of the supplies, including Tilda stamps and the Enveloper) or call the store at 408-736-9151 during business hours to make your purchase.

Also, don't forget about the Blog Candy on my other blog, it includes two stamps from the Magnolia Summer Club, details here.

This is the third and the last card for my upcoming "Stampotique Again!" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class. To see the other two cards please click here and here.. This class is scheduled for:

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or purchase the Class Kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

For such a simple card it sure took me forever to make it.. Because I wanted to use the moon stamp, I first decided to go with the dark metallic cardstock.. But the card turned out way too dark, and not only in color.. It did not have the feel and the mood that I wanted to achieve. So.. I totally changed the colors!! Instead of dark, I decided to go with very soft almost pastel color scheme.. And I think it worked!!

The green layer was embossed with Plants embossing folder by QuicKutz, I inked with the green ink inside of the folder first to give embossed image more dimension. The moon and the sentiment were heat embossed on gold metallic cardstock. The sentiment was cut and embossed with Nestabilites. The girl was stamped twice, once on light grey metallic cardstock and then on the pink Bling by Bazzil (for the wings). I added Crystal Stickles to her wings. The larger flowers are Martha Stewart punch and the smaller flowers are the punch from Marvy. Pink pearl stickers in the centers of the flowers. On the inside of the card I used the same embossing folder on the right side of the white layer.

All the stamps used on this card are from Stampotique.. The moon is item #6034M, the girl is item #6035L and the sentiment is item #9002O.

All the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you do not live in the area, you can place your order over the phone during the business hours, 408-736-9151.

Before I say bye, I wanted to remind you about my Blog Candy. You just have to see the post on the very top of my blog, there is a surprise there!! or click here to view the post..

BIG, HUGE News!!! and a Blog Candy, of course!!

This Blog Candy is now CLOSED! Thank you to everyone who had entered!!

I have been paper crafting for about 7 years now, it all started with scrapbooking and then I have transitioned into the Card Making. I really love making cards because for the small project there are sure so many options and every time I make a new card I get a feel of accomplishment. A few months ago I have decided that I should take my love of stamping and cardmaking a step further. And I took it!! Not even a step really, but a HUGE LEAP!!! I have decided to start my VERY OWN STAMP COMPANY!!!! Are you excited for me yet?

I am sure you have noticed the slogan under my blog title, "welcome to my happy place, to my crafting La La Land". Crafting has really been my happy place, my La-La Land for many years. This is where I go to escape from reality sometimes, and it has definitely helped me to get through some hard times in my life. And what better name for my stamp company would be then "La-La Land Crafts"? Here you go!! There is a new stamp company in town!! How about that??!! I would like to introduce to you for the very first time, "La-La Land Crafts"!!!

Who makes the artwork for my stamps? I have searched high and low to find the artists with just the right artwork that appealed to me, and which also could be turned into the line art for the stamps. Not an easy task let me tell you, but I have found three!!! The first release will have six images from two of the artists, twelve stamps all together!! The second release (already in works) will have the images from all three artists..

My stamps are made of a very high quality deep etched red rubber.. they are already mounted on the cling cushion!!! they are trimmed and ready to be placed on acrylic blocks!! Because of the high quality of the stamps, you will get great stamped images every single time!!

My stamps will be available both retail and wholesale. They will be available internationally too. You will be able to purchase my stamps through my website, http://lalalandcrafts.com/ and also in some of the craft stores. The website is still in works and will be up and running on the official release date. Cranberry Hill Mercantile will be one of the first stores carrying my stamps. If you are a store and would like to carry my line of stamps, please contact me to set up a wholesale account.

The release date will be sometimes at the end of August, the date is being determined. We will start the celebration by having a Grand Opening at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. The website will go live the same day at 11 pm PST.

I can't tell you about my new stamp company and not show you anything now, can I? I would never do that to you!! I can't show you the full images until the official release day, but here is a little sneak peek!!

This is Lala from La-La Land!! Isn't she adorable? Can't wait for you to see the full image of Lala. The artwork is by a super talented artist Kathy R. Jeffords. You can see more of Kathy's artwork here.

Now.. You have a chance to be one of the very first to own La La Land stamps, I am going to give this Lala stamp away to the lucky winner of the Blog Candy!!! Other items included in this Blog Candy are:

- StorRite Plastic Storage Sheets
- Stampin Up "Bella Toile" background stamp
- Stampin Up "Best Yet", set of six stamps
- Stampin Up Taffeta Ribbon in Chocolate Chip
- Inkadinkado, Personal Impressions 8 Notecards and Envelopes
- Inkadinkado, Personal Impressions Daisy, 2 Clear Stamps in this set
- Hero Arts Art paper Flowers

and from the new Lazy Summer Days collection by Magnolia you will get two stamps:

- Loves me Tilda and
- Loves me sentiment

Here is how to enter.. Mention my new Company AND my Blog Candy on your blog, then go to my La-La Land Crafts website and click on the Blog button to go to La-La Land Crafts Blog. Leave a comment there under the first post (it will look just the same as the post here). If you do not have a blog, just spread out the word about my new Company AND my Blog Candy and follow the instructions above to leave a comment.

This is very IMPORTANT!!! You are welcome to leave comments under this post on my blog here, but only comments left at La La Land Crafts Blog will be entered into the Blog Candy!!

Everyone is welcome to participate, I will ship internationally.. One comment per person please :-)

I will draw the winning number on Wednesday, July 22nd at around 10 pm PST. On the same day I will have a sneak peek of the image from another artist, and there also be another Blog Candy.

I am so excited!!!

Hugs!!

Santa Squirrel - A Muse

I just LOVE this adorable little Squirrel, this stamps is very new one from A Muse. He looks very ready to visit you at Christmas with the present in his hand.

This is the fourth and the last card for my upcoming "Christmas in July - A Muse" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make four different cards in this class. To see the other cards please click here, here and here. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, July 16th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, July 16th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Saturday, August 8th, 11 am to 2 pm

Please bring your Scor-Pal (if you have one), foam tape (pop-up dots) and your favorite adhesive to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

$30, 10 participants max

Class Kits will be available until August 8th, $35.00 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up and/or purchase your Class Kit/s.

This card measures 3 3/4" x 9", it fits in the regular business size US envelope.

I stamped houses repeatedly on the large white layer with the Gold Encore ink, I then created the frame around this layer with Scor-Pal. The same houses stamp was heat embossed for the main image layer, I then stamped snowflake over the houses with the Gold Encore ink. The Mr.Squirrel was heat embossed and then I used Copic Markers to color him in. You have to be really careful when coloring heat embossed image, especially if it was not embossed with the Clear Embossing Powder. The Copics reactivate the dye in the embossing powder and it smudges.. You really have to try hard not to touch the embossed lines, just get close to them.. You don't want to ruin your markers, right ;-). The Squirrel was cut out and popped on foam tape. There are Crystal Stickles on the white parts of his hat, and also on the snow under the houses and on the snowflakes. Both of the rectangulars were cut and embossed with Nestabilites. I used the same snowflake on the inside layer. The circles inside of the card were punched out.

This is the list of the stamps.. "Winter Houses", 7-7180F by A Muse. "Squirrel with Gift", 2-3131D by A Muse. "Mini Flake", 6-2168A by A Muse. The sentiment is from the Clear Stamp set by Hero Arts called "Holiday Tags", CL108.

All the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you do not live in the area, you can place your order over the phone during the business hours, 408-736-9151.

Merry Christmas with A Muse

I am back from the Stamp in the Hand show in Carson, CA!! I met a lot of new people and also got to catch up with some that I have met at the previous shows in Carson. It was so much fun!! And now, back to work ;-)

Today I will show you two cards that I made for my upcoming "Christmas in July - A Muse" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make four different cards in this class. To see the first two cards please click here and here. I will show you the last card in a new post in a few minutes..

This card measures 6" x 6".

To go with the theme of the other cards, I used white and gold cardstock on this card as well (both by Bazzill). The branch was stamped multiple times on the background layer with Gold Encore ink. The same branch was heat embossed on the main image. I then added the Christmas Ornaments (different stamp) to the branch. Ovals and the scalloped rectangular were cut and embossed with Nestabilites. I used the Scor-Pal to create the frame on the background layer and around the main image rectangular. I applied Crystal Stickles to the branch and the ornaments.

All of the stamps used on this card are from the new Christmas A Muse release. "Evergreen Branch", 2-4153J. "Elegant Ornaments", 2-2163J. "Merry Christmas", 9-8575C.

All the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you do not live in the area, you can place your order over the phone during the business hours, 408-736-9151.

Elegant Pinecone

I am still at the Stamp in the Hand show in Carson.. This post was scheduled since I just couldn't wait to show you one more card that I made with the new stamps from A Muse!! I love, love, love this pinecone!!! This stamp is so versatile, I am sure I will be using it again!!

This is the second card for my upcoming "Christmas in July - A Muse" card class at Cranberry Hill. We will make four different cards in this class. I will show you the second card tomorrow, but the other two I will have to make when we get back from the Stamp in the Hand show in Carson early next week.

Class Kits will be available until August 8thth, $35.00 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up and/or purchase your Class Kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

On this card I used my new favorite cardstock, Satin by Bazzill. It has such a reach texture, it almost feels like fabric!! And it looks beautiful embossed!! I used my Scor-Pal to make the frame around the layer first, then scored diagonal lines, after that I made the grid but only on two opposite sides. I also used metallic gold cardstock on this card, it is from Bazzill too.

The two A Muse stamps on this card are Elegant Pinecone, 2-4156E and Seasons' Greetings RM, 9-8577D. Both the sentiment and the pinecone were heat embossed. I applied Golden Rod and Patina Stickles to the pinecone, really LOVE how it turned out!! I couldn't stop with just having this gorgeous pinecone on the front of the card, so I embossed one on the inside layer and also on the envelope.

Hugs!!

Christmas in July - A Muse

I have scheduled two postings while I am out of town.. Just couldn't let you miss me ;-)

It was a great success at the A Muse A Palooza event at Cranberry Hill Mercantile last night!! There were two free Make-and-Takes with the new A Muse stamps with Lisa.. LOTS of GREAT food that Geri made.. Chicken Croissants, three types of cupcakes, and other munches.. but the BEST OF ALL, the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!! with the bananas, strawberries, marshmallows and other stuff!! And, there was a huge crowd of people, some of the new A Muse stamps have already sold out!! Fun, fun, fun!! Sorry if you missed the event..

So today I can show you a card that I made with the newly released stamps from A Muse!! This is one of the cards for my upcoming "Christmas in July - A Muse" card class at Cranberry Hill. We will make four different cards in this class. I will show you the second card tomorrow, but the other two I will have to make when we get back from the Stamp in the Hand show in Carson early next week.

This card measures 6" x 6".

There is something about White and Gold cards, they just scream elegance to me.. I used Coconut Swirl (white) and Brushed Gold (metallic), both by Bazzill.

I used FOUR different stamps on this card!! The deer stamp is called "Winter Stag", 2-2166G. The trees are "Pine Tree Silhouette", 2-4154E. Little snowflake "Mini Flake", 6-2168A. And the sentiment "Happy Holidays", 9-8576C. All of these stamps are new and they are all available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. You can either stop by the store or if you don't live in the area, you can call the store during the business hours to place your order, here is the phone number 408-736-9151.

I kind of went crazy with that little snowflake stamp, I stamped it all over the top of the card and also on the inside layer. The circles were cut with Nestabilites. I stamped the trees stamp a few times inside of the white circle. The trees and the snowflake were stamped with the Gold Encore ink. The deer was heat embossed, cut out and popped onto the card. The sentiment is also heat embossed. Gold Dew Drops on both sided of the sentiment.

Pretty simple, but yet so pretty!!

Happy Bird-Day! aka Tilda with the Bird Cage

Finally I got a chance to make a card with the Tilda stamp from the new Pet Collection by Magnolia!! This stamp is called Tilda with Bird Cage, you can buy her and the other stamps in this collection here. The stamps in this collection are just so adorable!! Oh, and don't forget that with the purchase of two or more Tilda stamps your purchase ships FREE!!

This is one of the cards for my upcoming "Tilda - Pet Collection" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make two cards in this class (still working on the second one) plus we will make custom envelopes using the Enveloper. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, July 30th, 11 am to 2:00 pm
Thursday, July 30th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Please bring foam tape (pop up dots) and your favorite adhesive to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for this class and/or purchase the Class Kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

I used metallic cardstock for the card base. Designer paper is by My Minds Eye, it so gorgeous with all the embossed glitter over it!! Tilda was colored with Copic Markers and cut out with Nestabilites Label Four set. I wanted another layer of the metallic cardstock behind it, but this was the largest shape in the set.. so, I glued it to the cardstock and cut it out by hand.. I stamped the cage one more time and popped it on the foam tape for dimension.. Beautiful Borders on the sides of the card are from Cuttlebug. Ribbon from my stash.. Sentiment inside of the card is by A Muse.

Envelope was made out of Basic Grey paper and I used Enveloper to make it. I used Hero Arts background postage stamp on the corners of the envelope.

All of the supplies used to make this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you don't live in the area, you can place your order online (for some of the supplies, including Tilda stamps and the Enveloper) or call the store at 408-736-9151 during business hours to make your purchase.
