one-of-a-kind Bird

It does not happen very often, not at all.. but when I saw this stamp set from Hero Arts and then one of the cards made with it in their recent catalog, it was a love at the first sight.. I HAD TO make this card!! Of course mine is a 6" x 6", but it is still almost a complete CASE of the card in their catalog.. I am sure they won't mind though ;-)

Colorful Peacock

This is one of those love and hate things.. I love, love, love using metallic cardstock on my cards.. but.. hate, hate, hate taking photos of these cards.. I know, it's just me not knowing enough about the photography and the lights.. But for me, the cards made with metallic cardstock never look as good in the photos as they do in real life :-(

This is one of the cards for my new upcoming "Magenta Style" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. This class is scheduled for:

Tuesday, June 9th, 12 pm to 3 pm
Sunday, June 21st, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please bring foam tape (pop-up dots) and your favorite adhesive to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

$30.00, 10 participants

Class Kits will be available until June 21st, $35.00 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or purchase the kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6". I took a few photos from different angles to try to show you how beautiful this card really is..

This absolutely gorgeous Peacock stamp is from Magenta, I do not know the name of this stamp but here is the number from the package - C37271-N. The Peacock was heat embossed in black and colored with the Pearlascent Watercolors. The white highlights were done with Smooch. There are gold rhinestones in the centers of the flowers.

The corner fligree stamp is also from Magenta, the number for this stamp is 14122-I. I've tried different inks and embossing for this corner, and have decided on the green Stazon.. The beautiful corners are there, but they do not overpower the card and let the Peacock take the center stage..

Metallic cardstock is by Bazzill. I used two colors on this card, gold and patina.

All the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you do not live in the area, you can place your order over the phone and it will be shipped to you, 408-736-9151.

I am NOT LION!!

I needed to make a third card for my upcoming "Father's Day" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile.. and I thought that the third card needed to be somewhat whimsical.. Can't be serious all the time.. This will make a great card for the kids (of any age) to give to their father..

We will make three cards in this class, to see the other two please click here and here. This class is scheduled for:

Sunday, May 31st, 12 pm to 3 pm

The lion stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs. The image was colored with Copic Markers and then cut out. I actually stamped the lion twice, his face is popped up!!

Both of the sentiments (on the front and inside of the card) were made with JustRite alphabet stamps. I used two different fonts, Branton and Curlz, and also used different size letters.

Designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket.

Tilda's apron and the boots were paper pieced with the same designer paper as the border on the card. I didn't have red ribbon, so I colored some white ribbon with R29 Copic marker. I did the same with the white pearls.

I wanted to make this post to apologize to all of you who have signed up for the Copic Class with me for today, May 26th.. I woke up at 4 am last night with the severe allergies reaction.. I am not hurt, but.. my face is all swollen up.. I had to cancel the class, so-so sorry.. I am taking antihistamine, didn't get better just yet.. might take up to 24 hours or even longer..

Special apologies to Betty and Nancy who drove all the way from the Sacramento area. We just couldn't get hold of you soon enough to alert you of the class cancellation. So sorry!! But I hope you had a nice time shopping at Cranberry Hill ;-) .

I want to thank all of you who were flexible and will come to the class at the other times.

So instead of teaching one class today, I will have three classes.. Now.. if you would like to join other ladies at these classes and learn about Copic Markers, here is your chance :-) . We will even go over Airbrushing and you will have a hand-on experience!!

you're No.1 - Wallet Card

Why is it so hard to make cards for men??? It is almost as hard as to shop for them.. Why can't they be more like us ;-)

This is the second card (kind of like a card) for my upcoming "Father's Day" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class. I am still working on the third card. To see the first card, please scroll down to the post below or click here. This class is scheduled for:

Sunday, May 31st, 12 pm to 3 pm
Tuesday, June 2nd, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please bring your favorite adhesive to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

The cost of this class is $30.00

If you can't make it to the class and/or would like to make more then one set, the Class Kits will be available. The Class Kit will include all materials, the stamped images and the photos of the cards. The cost of the Class Kit is $35.00.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or to purchase the Class Kit/s.

This "card" measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

I have seen so many of these "wallets" on Splitcoaststampers, but have not tried to make one until today. I have changed the size of mine though, I though it would be nice to make it bigger so you can fit more "stuff" into it :-).. The wallet has five pockets. You can put whatever you want in those pockets.. photos of the kids, notes, gift cards, cash, etc.. In the class, we will make a small card with the greeting that you see on the photos. Sorry, cash will not be included ;-)

I sponged textured Bazzill Cardstock to give it even more texture and to make it look like leather. Faux stitching was done with Tim Holtz ruler, I used SU brown marker to connect the dots.

The label on the front was made with oval and circle punches. Both of the sentiments, on the front of the card and on the small card inside, are from the Lizzie Anne Designs stamp set called "A Men's Sole".

I think this wallet would make a great card not only for Father's Day but for any other occasion (Birthday, Christmas, Graduation, etc..).

Sunday, May 31st, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or to purchase the Class Kit/s.

This card measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".

The hardest thing about making cards for men is keeping it simple. Sometimes it takes me longer to make a simple card, can be very challenging. I used a stamp set from Lizzie Anne Designs called A Man's Sole. There are other images in this stamp set, very manly. The designer paper is by BoBunny. There is the ribbon behind the circles. The square in the middle of the card and the circles with the stamped images are popped up with the foam tape. It is a simple card, don't know what else to tell you ;-) .

I really like orange and turquoise color combination, it just feels so summery to me.. This little Tilda is sitting in the "window".. I used Fiskars border punch to create the awning. The stems for the silk flowers are the Martha Stewart Fern punch. Sentiment is from A Muse. I tried to make a post with the sentiment to look like a flower marker. Inside of the card is the same bee as on the main image with Tilda on the front of the card. I stamped it again, colored, cut out and put inside of the card with dimensional on the punched out circles. The designer paper with the words is from Imagenisce, all other designer paper is by My Minds Eye.

All the supplies used to design this card (including Tilda stamp) are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. You can even shop for Tilda stamps online, here is the link. For all other supplies please call the store at 408-736-9151 to place your order and it will be shipped to you. And, with the purchase of two or more Magnolia (Tilda) stamps, the shipping is FREE!!

Be Yourself.. and Shoot for the Moon

...Since I have kind of abandoned my blog and my dear readers, and do not post every single day anymore, I have decided to treat you all today and to show you TWO CARDS instead of one!! Both of these cards are for my upcoming "Be Yourself..." card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class, all different (VERY DIFFERENT) styles and designs. I am still working on a third card and will show it to you in a couple of days. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, June 4th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, June 4th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, June 16th, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please bring your favorite adhesive and the foam tape to the class. All other supplies will be provided. The cost of this class is $30.00

Also, for those of you who cannot attend the class or if you don't live in the area or if you are coming to the class but would like to make more then one set of cards, these cards will also be available as the Class Kit. Each Class Kit will include all pre-cut and scored materials, all punched out elements, all the die cuts and all stamped images. The sheet with the photos of the completed cards with the measurements and the list of recommended Copic Markers will be included with your kit. The cost of the Class Kit is $35.00.The Class Kits will be available for a limited time, only until June 16th.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or to purchase your kit/s.

Both of these cards measure 6" x 6".

On the first card I used the image from Stampotique, she is a Lilac girl.. So CUTE!! I colored her with Copic Markers and accented with the Sakura Gelly Roll pen in Stardust and Spica pen in Olive (luv these!!). I just LOVE this sentiment from Hero Arts.. "be yourself... everyone else it taken" Isn't it neat? The flowers and the leafs were punched out. I used the same Spica pen to outline the leafs.. This crazy paper in bright green with the green embossed sparkly dots is by Making Memories and the bright pink paper with the punched out holes is by Creative Imaginations. Linen paper is by My Yellow Bicycle. The pink pearl stickers are from Hero Arts. I have not made a bright card like that in a long time, maybe even ever!! But I like it!! Have to stretch my limits sometimes ;-)

I am not very happy with the pictures of the second card.. Again, I am having hard time taking photos of the card made out of the metallic cardstock.. Trust me, this card looks SO MUCH better in real life!!

I fell IN LOVE with this sentiment from Stampotique!! Make sure to read it!! The little girl with the wings is from Stampotique as well. I thought that the sentiment and the image go so great together. Maybe I am crazy (OK, some of you will dispute the "maybe"), and of course, English is not my first language.. But.. I think this would make a great High School Graduation card.. What do you think?

I created the grid on the main layer with my Scor-Pal and used the Gold Zig Painty Pen to make the gold dots. Used Label 1 set Nestabilites to cut out the sentiment and the layers. Flowers are the stamp from Daisy Bucket, it is actually one flower. I cut out the center of it to create the layer for the larger flower and to make a small flower. The flowers were heat embossed with the black embossing powder on the navy blue metallic cardstock, I then added Stickles (of course..). The dew drops in the centers of the flowers. The corners are Fiskars Photo Corner Fancy punch.

See.. I told you that these cards are VERY DIFFERENT ;-)

All of the supplies used to design these cards are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you don't live in the area, please call the store during the business hours at 408-736-9151 to make your purchase.

Tilda Make-and-Take plus the list of my favorite Copic Combinations

These card toppers were my Make-and-Take projects at the Stamp in the Hand show in Sacramento, California on Saturday, May 9th.. This time we decided to give ladies a choice of the Tilda and Edwin images. I will be doing the same project for the Make-and-Take in July when we go the stamp show in Los Angeles..

Both scalloped and plain circles were cut and embossed with Nestabilites. The sentiment was created with the JustRite, I used the large 3 1/4" stamper and the Brayton font. Since there were not enough smaller size letters, I had to combine with the medium size. To create the "hill" for the images to sit on, I punched out the circle and then trimmed the bottom of it to make the "hill" shape. All of these Magnolia stamps are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. You can even place your order online, here is the link. Or call the store at 408-736-9151 to place your order. The shipping is FREE with the purchase of two or more Magnolia stamps.

Now.. I wanted to talk a little bit about the Copic Markers. First of, I want to start with my paper preference.. I know that this paper is not listed anywhere and you will not hear about it from Copic.. But the only reason is because this paper is kind of new and not so many people know about it.. The only paper that I use with my Copic Markers is the Coconut Swirl color by Bazzill cardstock. This cardstock DOES NOT have any texture, it is from Bazzill Smoothies Collection. This paper works wonderfully with the Copics!! You definitely have to try it!! If this cardstock is not sold in your local craft store, you can order some from Cranberry Hill Mercantile. Just give them a call during the business hours at 408-736-9151..

So many people ask me about my favorite color combinations and I decided to post this on my blog..

Flight of a Humming Bird

This is the second card for my upcoming "Emboss Resist" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three different cards in this class. To see the first card please click here, I am still working on the card number three. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, May 14th from 11-2pm

Saturday, May 30th from 12-3pm

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class.

Since this is a technique class, the Class Kits will not be available.

This card measures 6" x 6"..

Instead of stamping images on the plain cardstock, this time I stamped them on the designer paper instead. This gives an instant background and creates a "collage" type of feel. This paper is from Basic Grey and is the same paper that I have used to make this card, can you believe it?

The Humming Bird stamp is by Inkadinkado, 92647-X. The image was stamped and embossed, and then I used my new favorite medium, Smooch, to color in the bird. The Smooch gives the images nice shine with the pearl accent. I used Smooch in Green Apple and Pumpkin colors.

Flower stamp is by Penny Black called Leopard's Bane, 3873F. The flowers were stamped and embossed. I added gold microbeads in the centers of the flowers.

The main layer was sponged with yellow and orange inks to give it some depth.

The nice accents on the large layer are from the same stamp set that I have used to make this card, it is by Hampton Arts and is called Blooming Memories.

The filigree corners are the Cuttlebug die cuts.

All of the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you don't live in the area, please call the store during the business hours at 408-736-9151 to place your order.

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award."

I have had a really hard time deciding on who to pass these awards too.. How in the world am I suppose to pick only eight??? So I decided to pass it to everyone of you, but especially to these two young crafters:

- Fern, she is just 11 years old, and her creations are AWESOME!!
- Agus, she is only 14, you have to visit her blog!!

JustRite Butterflies

This is the second set for my upcoming "JustRite Gift Set" class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. This one is exactly the same as the one that I made a few days ago, only with the different design paper. At the class, the ladies will have a choice of either "cherries" or "butterflies" theme. To see the first set please click here.

At the class, we will make the stationary box and six cards (two each of three different designs). The box template and instructions will be included with your class supplies. We will use the JustRite Stampers for creating the monogram. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, May 7th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, May 7th, 4:30 to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, May 19th, 12 pm to 3 pm

The cost of this class is $30.00. Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class.

Also, for those of you who cannot attend the class or if you don't live in the area or if you are coming to the class but would like to make more then one set, this set will also be available as the Class Kit. Each Class Kit will include all pre-cut and scored materials, stamped and cut monograms, box template and instructions. The cost of the kit is $35.00. To purchase the kit, please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151. Please make sure to specify your preference of the style (cherries or butterlfiles) and the initial for the monogram. This Class Kit is available for a limited time, only until May 19th.

The circles for the monograms were cut and embossed with Nestabilites. The scallops on the bottom of the box were made with the Martha Stewart border punch. Designer paper is from Graphic 45.
