Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

OK, so I got different reactions about my last card (see post here). Some people loved it, and some people didn't like it at all.. But this is what I LOVE about teaching classes at Cranberry Hill, I get to use so many different lines of stamps. And sometimes I have to push myself to go outside of my comfort zone, being it the style of stamps, the colors, the products or the techniques. That being said, I did really enjoy working with Stampotique stamps and here are two more cards for my upcoming class (to see the first card please click here). This class is scheduled for:

Tuesday, April 7th, 12 pm to 3 pm
Saturday, April 11th, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class.

Both cards measure 6" x 6".

Stamps used on the first card are 6045R (the girl) and 6001J (blah, blah.. sentiment). These stamps can be purchased at Cranberry Hill Mercantile by phone at 408-736-9151.

Stamps used on the second card are 6021R (the girl) and 8965F (the sentiment). These stamps can be purchased at Cranberry Hill Mercantile by phone at 408-736-9151.

Designer Paper and Flowers are from BoBunny. Fiskars Photo Fancy corner punch. Hero Arts and Making Memories pearls. Images were colored with Copic Markers.

A different kind of card..

.. with a different kind of girl.. She is a super freak, super freak... LOL Sorry, just couldn't get that song out of my head.. She is different, alright!! But I love her nonetheless!! Isn't she cute??!! When we were at the CHA a few months ago, we were looking for some "different" stamps for Cranberry Hill Mercantile and then we found the Stampotique booth. Their line of stamps is nothing like I've seen before.

This will be one of the cards for my upcoming "Introducing Stampotique" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class, I am still working on the other two. This class is scheduled for:

Tuesday, April 7th, 12 pm to 3 pm
Saturday, April 11th, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class.

This card measures 6" x 6".

Both of the stamps, the girl and the sentiment are by Stampotique. There are no names of the stamps on the wood block, but they do have the numbers. The girl stamp is 6048R and the sentiment is 89684.

The image was colored with Copics and the glitter is Crystal Stickles. White pearls from Hero Arts and the small pink pearls are from Making Memories. Designer Paper and Flowers are from BoBunny. The brackets around the sentiment are the Fiskars Photo Fancy corners (punch).

All of the supplies used to design this card are available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. If you don't live in the area, just give the store a call at 408-736-9151 during the business hours to place your order.

Copic Color Chart

I know you can download the Color Chart from Copic website, but theirs is formatted for 11" x 17" paper. I tried to print it on 8 1/2" x 11" but it comes out so small, you can hardly see the numbers. So.. I spent about an hour making my own in Excel document using the chart from the Copic website for the reference.

Good things about having a chart:
1. You will not buy multiple markers in the same color.
2. Can see from the chart the color combinations.

Bad things:
1. Even though I have more then 60 markers, it sure does not look like much on the chart..
2. I need more Copics!!!

This chart will be available for you at Cranberry Hill Mercantile, just ask for one at the register. If you don't live in the area, just ask me and I will email the chart to you in the attachment (have not figured out how to attach it to the blogger).

Here are a few tips for those of you who will print the chart on your home printer:
- Print the chart on the paper you usually use with your Copic Markers, this way you will get the "true" color.
- Wait a few minutes after printing to let the ink set into the paper to avoid smudging with your Copics.

Easter Impression Obsession

Sorry for being absent for so long.. Haven't been feeling well, fighting the sinus infection..

I am still trying to get "back to basics" with the regular size cards. I made these cards yesterday with the new stamps from Impression Obsession. The designer paper is by Darci, it has nice glossy finish and the colors are just so soft. The images were heat embossed on the glossy paper and watercolored in with the Memento re-inkers. The borders on the first card (on the front and inside of the card) were done with Martha Stewart punch. On the second card the sentiment was stamped on the satin blue ribbon. Pearls in the corners are from Hero Arts. Corners were punched out with the new dual corner punch from Tonic.

I am really happy how these cards have turned out, they actually look much better in real life.

These are two of the cards for my upcoming "Easter and Spring Impression Obsession" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. At the class we will make three cards, I am still working on the third one.. This class is scheduled for:

Tuesday, March 31st, 12 pm to 3 pm
Wednesday, April 1st, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class.

Card one.. I think this one would work for a Mother's Day card as well..

Inside view of the card one..

Card two..

All supplies used on these cards are availalbe for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. Please call the store at 408-736-9151 during the business hours to place your order.

Easter Tilda Project

I got my new stamps from the Easter 2009 collection by Magnolia!! They are way too CUTE!!

Today I made a little round box and the enclosure card. This will be a Make-and-Take project at Cranberry Hill Mercantile on Tuesday, March 10th, 12 pm to 6pm (or while supplies last). Sign up is not required but recommended. Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up.

I took a lot of photos of this project to show you the details.

The box measures approximately 3 1/4" x 6" (not including the ribbon handle). The box was made out of My Minds Eye paper from the Penny Lane collection. This paper already has a scalloped edge!! For the bottom of the bag I cut the scalloped circle with Nestabilites and then attached the paper around it with the Scor-Tape. This Magnolia stamp is called Tilda with Lamb and is available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile, here is the link to the online store or you can place your order over the phone, 408-736-9151.

Below are the photos of the simple enclosure card, it measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". These cute silly chicks and the sentiment are from Magnolia as well. They are also available for purchase at Cranberry Hill Mercantile, you can place your order online or call the store at 408-736-9151.

Inside of the card..

This is one of my favorite stamps from Penny Black, I've been wanting to make a card with it for a looong time.. This stamp is called Tulip Jungle. Just like on the two other cards for this class, the image was heat embossed and then colored with Twinkling H2Os and the Pearlascent watercolors. Oval were cut with the Nestabilites. The designer paper is by My Minds Eye.

I did something new (for me) with the ribbon today. I colored (dyed) white ribbon with Copic Markers to match the color of the cardstock. It worked out great!!

Image was heat embossed and colored with Twinkling H2Os and Pearlascent Watercolors. Liquid Pearls in the centers of the flowers. Scalloped rectangle was cut and embossed with Nestabilties, I left Nestabilites in place and used it as a stencil to sponge yellow ink around the image.
