Kristine's Birthday

Well, by the time I have finished this card, it is almost a Be-Lated Birthday.. Today was Kristine's Birthday and to celebrate La-La Land Crafts Design Team was having little online party, a Birthday Blog Hop. Jump to La-La Land Crafts blog to see Kristine's "Walk of Fame", and from there you can also see the order of the Hop.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Kristine, Happy Birthday to you!!! ..and MANY MORE!!!!

I fell in love with this card made by Kathy for this week's challenge on La-La Land Crafts Blog. I have been trying to get to use the Coordinations paper and I just loved the look of the sanded candles on Kathy's card.. I know I have not done Kathy's card a justice, but I have tried :-)

Talk about killing three birds with one bullet!!! This card is the Birthday card for Kristine, it qualifies for this week's "No Designer Paper" challenge at La-La Land Crafts Blog and it is also a second card for my upcoming "Birthdays in La-La Land" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale, CA. We will make three cards in this class, all with La-La Land Crafts stamps. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, February 18th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, February 18th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Sunday, February 21st, 12 pm to 3 pm

Please bring your Cuttlebug, foam tape and your favorite adhesive to this class. All other supplies will be provided.

$30, 10 participants max.

Class Kits are available until February 21st, $35 each.

Please call Cranberry Hill Mercantile at 408-736-9151 to sign up for the class and/or purchase your kit/s.

This card measures 6" x 6".

Interestingly enough, I am kind of enjoying making the cards with no DP.. it is kind of fun :-)

Bazzill cardstock for the card base. Coordinations cardstock for most of the layers. Both candles and the birthday numbers are Cuttlebug embossing folders. The flower was made with three punched out scalloped circles, my friend Delpha showed me how to make it. Martha Stewart leaf punch. EK Success corner punch. Sentiment is from Amuse. Cupcake Rosie is one of the newely release stamps from La-La Land Craft. She was colored with Copics, cut out and popped on the front of the card.

Hugs!!

Great job and thanks so much for the birthday wishes. It was a great day. I feel like I got totally spoiled by my online friends and so that made the day extra special! Great card -- love that you were able to do it without designer paper!!! And, love that crinkly paper flower!

What a neat card! I adore the candles background and stitched flower. Because of the large print of the In Bloom paper I wondered how to use it on cards. Looks like a piece of pretty fabric. How clever! Thanks for sharing your neat creations!
