My Favorite Moments with Marci

Today I am showing you yet another stamp from the new Marci collection by La-La Land Crafts. I am giving you...

Sweet Dreams Marci!!!

I even got a chance to play with Sweet Dreams Marci today!! I went for a shabby chic kind of look :-)

I combined designer paper from My Minds Eye and Teresa Collins on this card. "My Favorite Moments" tag is cut from Teresa Collins paper as well. I sponged all of paper layers with Old Paper Distress Ink. I stamped some flourishes on the tag and on the right side of the card in Pumice Stone Distress Ink, the flourishes are the clear stamps from Prima - this set is called Jacquard. EK Success border and corner punches. Ribbon and button from my very big stash :-)

Marci was colored with Copic Markers.. I am SO enjoying coloring little Marci and Luka stamps!!! Seriously, sometimes I feel bad that I am having SO MUCH fun with my own images!! ;-)

Here are the Copic colors that I used to color this sweet girl:

Skin - E000, 21, 31
Hair - E25, 31, 50
Nightgown - YR20, 21, 23, and C3
Sleepers - BG0000, BG10, BG72 and C3
Panda - W2, 4, 6 and R11

Pirate Luka

Today I got a chance to make a card with the new image from La-La Land Crafts, Pirate Luka!!! I just adore his sweet little face!!! :-) This stamp is available in digi on La-La Land Crafts website for a LIMITED time THIS WEEK only, and it will be released in rubber later on this fall.. This is a pretty simple card and it was very easy to make.. These Marci and Luka stamps are just so much fun to "play" with and cards just come together!!!

This card measures 6" x 6".




Creative Imaginations and Gartner Studios designer paper. Edges of the paper were distressed, sponged and I finally got to use my sewing machine on my card, have been wanting to do it forever!!! Circles cut with Nestabilites. EK Success corner punches adorn the top and the bottom of the circle. Rhinestoes in the centers of the corner punches.

Luka was colored with Copic Markers, cut out and popped onto the card for dimension. Gold Rhinestones on the buttons of his jacket.

I have yet a NEW CHARACTER to share with you today!!

Eric and I have been working hard and enjoying every minute of it on our fabulous new line of stamps for La-La Land Crafts!! I decided to share a new stamp with you each week and have it available for one week only in the shop as a digi!! So far you've seen "Birthday Marci" and "Ballerina Marci".

During the Blog Hop on La-La Land Crafts blog we asked you what you'd like to see join the La-La family!! Many of you gave us great ideas for new stamps, and a HUGE majority of you said that you'd like to see a BOY stamp. It's so good to know that you want him because we have one done already!! I introduce to you

is he not the MOST ADORABLE li'l pirate?? This Luka stamp will be released in our Halloween Collection.. He is ready to trick-or-treat with his pillow case!! But of course this stamp can be used for any other occasion too besides Halloween, he will just hold a sack of treasures instead ;-) Luka will be a part of Marci line, well it will be more like Marci and Luka :-) And you can now buy him (THIS WEEK ONLY) as a digi!! Sweet, Chic & Glamorous Framed Art

I wanted to make something even more special than the card with the new Marci Ballerina stamp from La-La Land Crafts, I wanted something more artsy!! I wanted to have a framed piece to display this uber adorable image, she so deserves it!!!

I went with a collage style using various elements from different companies.. I was amazed how they all went so well together!! To complement the color and the style of the elements, I colored Marci in sepia tones this time.

If you want to learn how to color images in sepia and black and white, there is a Copic Class that I am teaching at Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale, CA. This class is scheduled for:

I really LOVE how this piece have turned out!! I have it displayed on the table in the living room right now, later I will hang it in my crafts room :-) I am not too happy with the pictures though.. I might have to re-take them..





I used Bazzil cardstock for the photo mat. There are two embossed squares around the picture, I hope you can see it on the photos.. I made those with my Scor-Pal!!

Designer paper is from S.E.I Windsor collection called Wickham, the swirls on this paper are flocked!! So pretty in real life!!! Both the frame and the sentiment tag are from My Minds Eye. I punched the holes in the tag as it needed to be more airy :-) Leaf branch chipboard sticker is from Basic Grey Capella collection. Flourish die cut from Tim Holtz (finally I got my hands on this die, LOVE it!!!). Prima flower and filigree corner from Buttons Galore finish this piece of art :-)

As I mentioned, Marci was colored with Copics in sepia tones. I again gave her tutu a dimension by layering it. I will have a tutorial for you on how to make it within a few days :-)

I wasn't going to do this, but I just couldn't resist sharing one more image from Marci Collection with you!!!! Let me introduce MARCI BALLERINA!!! I LOVE her so much!!! She is the cutest one ever!!! .. I am not being bias or anything, am I? ;-)

This gorgeous designer paper is from TPC Studio . EK Success border punches. I hand drew the template for the curtains, cut them out of the DP and then used scalloped scissors on the black cardstock. Buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

Marci was colored with Copic Markers. I stamped the skirt part of her outfit three more times and layered it to create a 3D look. It gives it SO MUCH dimension!!! I will have a tutorial for you on how to make it in a few days :-)

Mainely Stampin' - Upcoming Classes

Just a reminder that I am teaching classes at Mainely Stampin' in Fairfield, CA now as well in addition to Cranberry Hill Mercantile.. In fact, I have THREE classes coming up next weekend!!!

On Saturday, August 14th - in the morning from 10 am to 1 pm, I am teaching "Coloring with Copics - Skin Tones and Hair Colors" class. Even if you are not into making cards/scrapbook pages with "people", it is a good class to take to learn different Copic techniques that you can apply to other projects. You will receive a list of Copics to bring with you to the class for your personal use when you call the store to sign up. This class is limited to 12 people, only a few spots are still available!!

In the afternoon on August 14th, from 2:30 to 5:30, I am teaching "Introducing La-La Land Crafts" card class. We will make three cards in this class, all different occasions with various stamps from La-La Land Crafst and other companies.




Then on Sunday, August 15th from 12 pm to 3 pm, I am teaching a class with this adorable Christmas Matchbox project!!



As I said, the space is limited in all of these classes.. and.. I am in Fairfiled only a few times a month!! If you want to take a class with me, make sure to call Mainely Stampin' in advance at 707-435-9400 to sign up!!

And as promised, I have a new card with Birthday Marci to share with you today!!

I am REALLY HAPPY with the way this card has turned out!! But.. The photos really don't do this card much justice :-( It looks SO MUCH better in real life, you just have to trust me!!! It looks so sparkly and magical, I really wish you could see it life..



Beautiful sparkly paper is from SEI, On the Coast collection. Martha Stewart border punch. Punched border behind Marci was embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder (hard to see on the photo, but it is there!!). I really wanted to have some scrolls to frame Marci, but I do not own any of die cuts of that kind.. really need to get me some!! So.. I had to improvise!! I used EK Success scroll and leaf punches. Flower punches are from EK Success as well. Rhinestones in the centers of all of the flowers.. Marci was colored with Copic Markers. I stamped one more image and cut out the present and panda, they are popped onto the main image for dimension. CUTE!!

La-La Land Crafts Birthday Bash

I can't believe it has been a year since I started La-La Land Crafts!! What an adventure and I have been enjoying every single bit of it!!! I want to thank all of my loyal followers for all your support and for loving my images. I would like to thank my wonderful Design Team, both current and everyone else who was a part of LLLC family for the last year!! Thank you SO MUCH for making LLLC images come to live on your beautiful cards and projects!!

To celebrate our one year anniversary, we are having a week long celebration on LLLC blog. The whole week of a Birthday Bash filled with hops, games and prices!!

Today kicks off the one year birthday celebration of LaLa Land Crafts and we're so happy you've come to help us celebrate!! Our DT have put together some amazing beach-themed cards and we have some fun GAMES & PRIZES all week long!! I am giving you MARCI!!!! Marci is the newest addition to the La-La Land Crafts family!! Isn't she just the SWEETEST EVER???!!!

And now for the best part of all!!! She is all mine, my very own!!! I drew her!!!!! WOW!!! I can't believe that my dream had finally came true!!!!! When I had an idea of starting my stamp company, this is exactly what I had in mind, this is exactly what I wanted to do - to design my OWN stamps!!! But at the time it just wasn't happening for me.. But she is here now!!!! I am SO SUPER EXCITED!!!!

So, I have to tell you.. I have been sketching some images for a long time.. I think I was getting somewhere with them, but not quiet.. Then about two weeks ago (yes, it happened that FAST!!), I made another sketch of the girl.. My boyfriend Eric took a look at her and said "she is here!!". He took my sketch and created what you see!! It was so sweet of him to spend hours perfecting Marci, he is THE BEST!!!!!

The Marci line of LLLC stamps will be released on September 15th with five different images. More Marci images along with other will be added to LLLC family every single month!!

I would like to show you my very first card made with this sweet girl. Oh, I have to tell you, she is SOOOO MUCH FUN to color!!!! I was absolutely LOVING it!!!


But of course I can't just show you this adorable sweet girl and make you wait until mid September to play with her, can I? ;-) For a LIMITED TIME ONLY!!
