I decided to go with the soft sea colors. Seafoam color cardstock is metallic and white cardstock has a very nice shimmer to it (very hard to see in photos, maybe if you enlarge the pictures you can see it better). Martha Stewart Border Punch. EK Success corner punch. Spellbinders Labels Five and Circle Nestabilites. I stamped the background layer with various shell stamps from the clear stamp set by Crafty Secrets called "Seaside". This stamp set was a gift from one of my friends, thank you Sandy!!! After stamping the shells, I created the grid on the background with my Scor-Pal. This Stampotique stamp is called "3 Girls" and is from Carol's Collection.

I cut the eggs from Wedding Satin Bazzill cardstock, they look just like real eggs in real live.. pretty cool!!! Square and Scallop square Nestabilites. Martha Stewart grass border punch. EK Success flower punches in different styles and sizes. Marc Richards pearls. The button is from Buttons Galore, Cranberry Hill Mercantile got them in stock in different color collections.. I got FOUR different ones!! Gotta love your buttons!! :-)

SDC#2: Color Challenge-Stampotique Stamps Only

I am really happy with the way this card has turned out. It is different, that's for sure.. but it does make me smile.. I think it turned out to be a happy card :-)

I tore the corners of the rose paper and to show the "brick wall". I used Spellbinders embossing die to make the bricks, T3-010 Parallel Lines - Bricks. EK Success Fancy Corner punch. Copper brads in the corners. The stamps are from Stampotique. Colored with Copic Markers. See the foliage by the door and the flowers by the boy? I hand drew those.. I know, I know.. I am such an artista, hehehe ;-)

Love Ya!

You all know how much I love the quirky images from Stampotique Originals. I have been on their Design Team for awhile now even though I have not made anything with their stamps lately. But now you will see my creations with Stampotique stamps at least twice a month!!! There is a new Challenge Blog from Stampotique Design Team!! The tremendously talented design team will be bringing challenges to you on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, giving you the opportunity to see some fine artwork created with Stampotique stamps, to get inspired and to hopefully play along with us!

This weeks challenge is hosted by the ubber talented Vicki Garrett!! Vicky challenged us to create a love themed card! If you head over to the Stampotique Design Team Challenge Blog you can get the full details about how to participate and where to upload your creation. Play along and you could be the winner of a Gift Certificate to Stampotique Originals. One winner will be picked randomly from all players and will be announced in the next challenge post.

For my card I decided to go with "Girl with Heart Purse" simply because she is holding a heart purse ;-) and also because she is one of my favorite Stampotique stamps!!

Glitter Polka Dot paper is from Doodlebug Design. Martha Stewart border punch. EK Success Corner punch. Hearts were cut with Spellbinders. Sentiment from a clear stamp set by Hero Arts. The girl was stamped with Memento and colored with Copics. I created the frame around the image with my Scor-Pal.

For such a simple card it sure took me forever to make it.. Because I wanted to use the moon stamp, I first decided to go with the dark metallic cardstock.. But the card turned out way too dark, and not only in color.. It did not have the feel and the mood that I wanted to achieve. So.. I totally changed the colors!! Instead of dark, I decided to go with very soft almost pastel color scheme.. And I think it worked!!

The green layer was embossed with Plants embossing folder by QuicKutz, I inked with the green ink inside of the folder first to give embossed image more dimension. The moon and the sentiment were heat embossed on gold metallic cardstock. The sentiment was cut and embossed with Nestabilites. The girl was stamped twice, once on light grey metallic cardstock and then on the pink Bling by Bazzil (for the wings). I added Crystal Stickles to her wings. The larger flowers are Martha Stewart punch and the smaller flowers are the punch from Marvy. Pink pearl stickers in the centers of the flowers. On the inside of the card I used the same embossing folder on the right side of the white layer.

All the stamps used on this card are from Stampotique.. The moon is item #6034M, the girl is item #6035L and the sentiment is item #9002O.

Happiness is..

Designer Paper is by My Minds Eye.. Bird was colored with Copic Markers. Her hat, the bag and the shoes have been paper pieced with the same red designer paper as the border on the bottom of the card.

Memo from the Queen

Designer paper is from Imaginisce. Nestabilites Labels Four set (layers were cut and embossed). Flower and Leafs punches are from Martha Stewart, the centers for the flowers were done with the office hole punch. EK Success circle punches. Gold brads by Making Memories. Ribbon from my stash. The girl (she is colored with Copic Markers) and the sentiment are popped on the foam tape. Crystal stickles on the girl to make her stand out more.

Great News - Stampotique!!

I got an email last week from Carol Ramsey, the owner of Stampotique.. Carol asked me if I would like to join their Design Team!!! What do you think my answer was? But OF COURSE!! I AM SO HONORED!!!

Be Yourself.. and Shoot for the Moon

...Since I have kind of abandoned my blog and my dear readers, and do not post every single day anymore, I have decided to treat you all today and to show you TWO CARDS instead of one!! Both of these cards are for my upcoming "Be Yourself..." card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards in this class, all different (VERY DIFFERENT) styles and designs. I am still working on a third card and will show it to you in a couple of days. This class is scheduled for:

Thursday, June 4th, 11 am to 2 pm
Thursday, June 4th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, June 16th, 12 pm to 3 pm

Also, for those of you who cannot attend the class or if you don't live in the area or if you are coming to the class but would like to make more then one set of cards, these cards will also be available as the Class Kit. Each Class Kit will include all pre-cut and scored materials, all punched out elements, all the die cuts and all stamped images. The sheet with the photos of the completed cards with the measurements and the list of recommended Copic Markers will be included with your kit. On the first card I used the image from Stampotique, she is a Lilac girl.. So CUTE!! I colored her with Copic Markers and accented with the Sakura Gelly Roll pen in Stardust and Spica pen in Olive (luv these!!). I just LOVE this sentiment from Hero Arts.. "be yourself... everyone else it taken" Isn't it neat? The flowers and the leafs were punched out. I used the same Spica pen to outline the leafs.. This crazy paper in bright green with the green embossed sparkly dots is by Making Memories and the bright pink paper with the punched out holes is by Creative Imaginations. Linen paper is by My Yellow Bicycle. The pink pearl stickers are from Hero Arts. I have not made a bright card like that in a long time, maybe even ever!! But I like it!! Have to stretch my limits sometimes ;-)

I am not very happy with the pictures of the second card.. Again, I am having hard time taking photos of the card made out of the metallic cardstock.. Trust me, this card looks SO MUCH better in real life!!



I fell IN LOVE with this sentiment from Stampotique!! Make sure to read it!! The little girl with the wings is from Stampotique as well. I thought that the sentiment and the image go so great together. Maybe I am crazy (OK, some of you will dispute the "maybe"), and of course, English is not my first language.. But.. I think this would make a great High School Graduation card.. What do you think?

I created the grid on the main layer with my Scor-Pal and used the Gold Zig Painty Pen to make the gold dots. Used Label 1 set Nestabilites to cut out the sentiment and the layers. Flowers are the stamp from Daisy Bucket, it is actually one flower. I cut out the center of it to create the layer for the larger flower and to make a small flower. The flowers were heat embossed with the black embossing powder on the navy blue metallic cardstock, I then added Stickles (of course..). The dew drops in the centers of the flowers. The corners are Fiskars Photo Corner Fancy punch.

See.. I told you that these cards are VERY DIFFERENT ;-)

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

OK, so I got different reactions about my last card (see post here). Some people loved it, and some people didn't like it at all.. But this is what I LOVE about teaching classes at Cranberry Hill, I get to use so many different lines of stamps. And sometimes I have to push myself to go outside of my comfort zone, being it the style of stamps, the colors, the products or the techniques. A different kind of card..

.. with a different kind of girl.. She is a super freak, super freak... LOL Sorry, just couldn't get that song out of my head.. She is different, alright!! But I love her nonetheless!! Isn't she cute??!! When we were at the CHA a few months ago, we were looking for some "different" stamps for Cranberry Hill Mercantile and then we found the Stampotique booth. Their line of stamps is nothing like I've seen before.

The image was colored with Copics and the glitter is Crystal Stickles. White pearls from Hero Arts and the small pink pearls are from Making Memories. Designer Paper and Flowers are from BoBunny. The brackets around the sentiment are the Fiskars Photo Fancy corners (punch).
