Framed Peacock

Since I haven't been feeling well, I was so behind on making the cards for my class which is tomorrow!!! But.. it seems that sometimes I work the best under the pressure, hehehe.. Since the class is tomorrow and it had to be done.. I made not one, but two cards today!! I will make a separate post for the second card and will show it to you in a few hours ;-)

Here is the second card for my upcoming "Frame It!" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale, CA. We will make three cards in this class, all different designs. Please bring your Cuttlebug, your favorite dry adhesive and foam tape (pop-up dots) to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

Martha Steward border and corner punches (aka punch around the corner). EK Success flower and leaf punches. Small flower punch is from Marvy Urchida. Cuttlebug embossing folder. Circle cut with Nestabilites. Peacock stamp is from Magenta, stamped with Tim Holtz distressed ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Pearls inside of the flowers are from Mark Richards.

Simply Thinking of You

I have scheduled a card class with simple cards.. One more thing to challenge myself with.. Such a straggle, don't know why.. And, I need to make FOUR more cards for this class.. hmmm... I can do it!! I can do it!!!!

I was going to make all the cards for this class a regular A2 size.. That was not happening for me today at all, as much as I tried.. So.. this card measures 5" x 5" :-) Still a square card, but smaller than my usual size.. I am going in the right direction, I guess.. I can do it!! I can do it!!!!




Basic Grey designer paper. Bazzill cardstock. Scallop squares were cut with Nestabilites. Cuttlebug die and emboss Butterfly combo. Sentiment from JustRite. Button is from Buttons Galore. That's it!!! Simple, I told you!! I can do it!! I can do it!!!!

After I saw this card by Jane, I just had to try this technique!! I've seen it done before but Jane had really inspired me to try!! I followed the tutorial by Nilda Rockenbach. It is easy once you learn how to do it!!

OK, now onto the new cards.. These will be card one and card two for my upcoming "Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug and Nestabilites" card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. We will make three cards at this class, and I am still working on the third one. This class is scheduled for:

Both of these cards look much better in real life. I had hard time taking photos of the cards because of the shimmer of the metallic cardstock, and doing it at 2 o'clock in the morning sure did not help..

These cards measure 6" x 6".


I created the grid on the background with the Scor-Pal. The Butterflies are from the Cuttlebug die-cut and emboss combo set. Dew Drops on the butterflies bodies. The sentiment is by Hero Arts, embossed with White Embossing Powder. Circles were cut and embossed with Nestabilites. Corners are the punch by EK Success called Photo Corners Fancy.


This card wanted to stay "simple" and I just had to let it be ;-) . I wanted to make this style card for a long time!! I used Nestabilites Label One dies on this card, just LOVE THEM!! First I created the opening with the largest die in the set (cut and embossed), then I cut and embossed another shape with the second larger die and heat embossed the image in the center. Then I placed the layer with the image in the center of the card, that created the illusion of the frame but really the gold that you see is showing from the bottom layer through the opening. Hope this makes sense.. The stamp is from Inkadinkado. The corners were done with the same punch, I think I found my new favorite..

White Christmas

These three cards are for my upcoming (next week!!) card class at Cranberry Hill Mercantile. All of these cards feature Cuttlebug Die Cuts and Cuttlebug Embossing folders.

First two cards measure 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and the last card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".


On the first card, I cut out the Snowflake from white cardstock as well as from the thin chipboard (I used one of so many coasters that I already have on hand). Snowflake was embossed with Swiss Dots and then adhered to the chipboard shape. On the square behind the snowflake I made a "frame" using the Scor-Pal. White Pearl Dew Drop in the center of the Snowflake.


On the second card, I cut out and embossed the oval with Nestabilites. Embossed image is inside of the oval, I really like how this has turned out. Snowflakes from Lizzie Anne Designs were stamped with Gold Encore ink. The greeting is from Lizzie Anne Designs as well. Stickles in the centers of the stamped snowflakes and on the snow on the image inside of the oval. White Pearl Dew Drops in the corners.


On the third card, I first made the border on the bottom of the card with the Scor-Pal and then embossed the top of the layer with Swiss Dots. The Ornaments was cut out from the white cardstock and one more from the thin chipboard (just like the snowflake on the first card). I embossed the ornament with the Snowflake folder and then adhered to the chipboard. Ribbon on the top of the Ornament and Dew Drops on both sides of the greeting (the greeting is by Penny Black).
