Angel Marci Candle

I've seen some stamped candles on the blogs.  I've heard people saying that it is VERY easy to do.  I've never tried it before.  This is my first one!!  And let me tell you, it IS very easy to do!! It actually took me longer to decide how to embellish my candle than to make the stamped image on it!!

I made one with our Angel Marci as she is a very fitting image for Christmas.  Snowflakes are from the old Stampin' Up set (sorry, don't remember the name of it).  Marci was colored with Copics.  Snowflakes were stamped with Distressed Ink.

This is one of the projects for my December Workshop.
To see other projects in this Workshop, please click HERE.

December Workshop is scheduled for:
Saturday, December 17th
10 am to 6 pm
in the Crop Room at Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA

This Workshop is by invitation only.  If you would like to attend but did not receive an Evite invitation from me, please email me at irina_ca@msn.com and I will add you to my email list.

As you see  I used the flameless candle for my project!!  Pure genius, I know!!  LOL!!  You can light up this candle without feeling bad about letting your stamped candle melt down and disappear!!

I used English Tea Party Doily by Cheery Lynn to sit my candle on.  To make sure it is usable, I cut out the circle in the center.  To attach the doily, I used my heat gun to melt it in!

Pencil Sketchbook

I think I went a little overboard with my doodling on the cover of my new and made I proudly add {handmade} Pencil Sketchbook ;-)  I first stamped our Kitty Kat Marci (available HERE) and then doodled the rest of the "scene".  Everything was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and I had oodles (pun very much intended!!) of FUN!!  I don't even think I am done yet as I can see some empty spaces there, hahaha!!

The front of my Sketchbook is a very heavy chipboard, so this book is nice and sturdy!  I used my new Cinch Machine to bind my Sketchbook.  Let me tell you, I LOOOVE it - so MUCH better than Bind-It-All.  Really!!

I am going to make these blank Sketchbooks for everyone at my Coloring with Prismacolor Pencils WORKSHOP.  These Sketchbooks measure 6 1/4" x 4 3/4" and include FOUR different types of paper - 34 pages altogether!!  I really-really-really, did I say REALLY(!!) LOVE coloring in the Sketchbooks - you can take it anywhere with you and it is so nice to have something for the color reference and especially to see your progress in coloring.

Prismacolor Pencils WORKSHOP

Coloring with pencils has always intrigued me.  I of course remember coloring when I was a child.  Oh!!  I was so in love with my pencil collection!!  Now I feel like I am back to those happy times!!
I took an online class with Marti and have learned a lot.  What I learned the most though is that I really need to do my own thing.  I tried many different coloring techniques to see what fits my style the best.  I had to try so many different papers to come up with my favorites.  I have a limited number of pencils, so I had to come up with my own color combinations.

I am happy with my coloring now!!  And, I feel confident enough to teach you too!!

at Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA

This card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

I sponged clouds using the cloud border from my Buccaneer Card that I made yesterday as a template.  See the texture on the tree?  I didn't do anything special, it is just the texture of the chipboard showing after I added distressed inks to the die cut.  I also distressed May Arts green ribbon by rubbing Vintage Photo ink pad directly onto the ribbon - photos don't do it the justice, it is so shimmery and gorgeous in real life!!

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Skeleton Luka by La-La Land Crafts, Sentiment by Hero Arts
Papers: Bazzill Cardstock
Tools: Scor-Pal, TH Tree and Bat dies, Spellbinders Circle (moon), Martha Stewart Fence and Grass Punches

Other: Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot

Copic Markers:

Hair -E35, E39, E47
Hat, Shoes and Outfit - T1, T3, T5, T7
Vest - V15, V17, BV08 (now looking at it,  I should've used YG's to make it green)
Sack - E41, E42, E43

Witchy Wishes

I am posting two days in a row!!  Are you impressed?  LOL ;-)

This card measures 6" x 6".

I have been practicing coloring folds and pleats and Witch Marci's dress is just perfect for this technique!! This technique is certainly not one of those things when you would say that it looks easier than it looks, in fact I think in this instance it is actually much harder than it looks and sure takes a lot of time and practice!!

The other new thing for me on this card - paper pleats!!  What fun!!  I should do this more often as it adds so much more texture to the project than a flat border.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Witch Marci by La-La Land Crafts, Tickets by Tim Holtz
Papers: Black and Craft Cardstock by Bazzill, Pink Paisley DP, Echo Park DP

Tools: Scor-Pal, TH Tree, Spellbinders Circle and Oval Nestabilites, Martha Steward Leaf and Fence Punches, EK Success Flower Punches
Other: Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, Viva Pearl Pen

Ruffles Marci Stationary/Trinket Box

Wow, wow, wow!!  I hadn't made any projects since our last CHA in July!!!  FINALLY here is a NEW one!!

And I got to play with the NEW Marci stamp too!!  This is Ruffles Marci!!  This stamp is not even released yet, so consider this to be a sneak peek ;-)

I created a Stationary/Trinket Box to showcase our new Marci.  I created my own template for the box and the lid.  The box is pretty big, it measures 6" x 6" x 2".  Inside dimensions are 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" with a divider.  The way I positioned my divider my box will fit regular size cards and postage stamps, pens, etc. - making it a Stationary Box.  However, this box can be used for pretty much anything if you move divider, make two or even four slots there to create a trinket box.  Or, you can leave one big space and store whatever your heart desires in it!!

This is one of the projects for my SEPTEMBER Workshop

SEPTEMBER Workshop is scheduled for:
Sunday, September 25th
10 am to 6 pm
at Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA

This Workshop is by invitation only.  If you would like to attend but did not receive an Evite invitation from me, please email me at irina_ca@msn.com and I will add you onto the list.

I've seen other crafters making the images look like 3D without using pop dots but instead shaping the elements on the image.   This is my first time giving an image some dimension this way.  I really, really, really love how my Marci has turned out!!  I took quite a few pictures to show you so hopefully photos do it the justice.
Oh, and those dots on Marci's hair band - they are not a part of a stamp, I drew them with my Memento Marker.  I thought it was a nice touch :-)

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Ruffles Marci by La-La Land Crafts (available late September), Post Card by Whimsy Stamps, Tickets by Tim Holtz

Papers: Craft Cardstock by Bazzill, Pink Paisley DP
Tools: Scor-Pal, TH Clock, Spellbinders Rose Creation, EK Success Border Punch

Faerie Marci Round Trinket Box

I totally forgot to share this project with you.  This round trinket box was one of the project at my last Workshop and it was also one of the samples for our Booth at CHA.  This trinket box features FAERIE MARCI, one of the stamps which was released CHA in Chicago just a few weeks ago!!

I made a round trinket box with a circle Easel card on the top of the lid.  I think it turned out very pretty and feminine.  It's whimsical and has a magical feel to it with all the lacey elements, vellum flowers, butterflies and pearls.  A perfect fit for our pretty Faerie Marci!!
